DSY Design is me – Dori Yelverton. My company has grown up out of a passion for photography with a splash of web and graphic design. Imaging is my hobby – but my day job as a software engineer and sometime IT project manager keeps me current on what’s going on in the technology world.
My first camera, at the age of 6, was an Ansco 110 Pixie. I loved it and took all kinds of bad photographs of my friends at school. When I graduated high school my father let me “borrow” his beautiful Honeywell Pentax SLR for my college level photography classes. He never got it back… As much as I loved the chemical process and spending time in the darkroom, I have finally transitioned to the digital world and now shoot Nikon.
I am blessed to live in the beautiful state of Alaska, and inspiration can be found lurking around every corner. I love photographing people in this endless landscape. My style is photojournalistic – I love capturing candid moments and images that tell a story about the subject.
