MSN had a great checklist for brides of common wedding blunders – here was number 9 on the list:
9. Don’t even think about speeding through photos.
Speaking of not having enough time, any less than an hour isn’t enough for a portrait session; an hour-and-a-half is closer to ideal because you’ll look more relaxed in your pictures (and those first few never come out as well as you hope). Squeezing photos into the first half-hour of your cocktail hour will make you anything but at ease. If you refuse to see your groom before the ceremony, take pictures separately beforehand so the only shots left to take after the ceremony include both of you.

Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too?

And who says you only get one wedding cake?

Had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful couple the day after their wedding in Milwaukee, Wi. Just a sneak peak of some of their images – and of course, stay tuned for the wedding images as well!

This awesome brick wall has painted numbers from 1 – 12 or something and the couple plans to come back each year to take a photograph next to the appropriate number for the years they have been married – so we started out with the zero ;)

A couple weeks ago I shot Steve and Brittany’s wedding, after doing some fun engagement sessions with them earlier in the summer. Steve’s family all came in from Wisconsin, and I just loved them! I felt right at home with the mid-westerners, they are just so much fun! Everyone was in great spirits and the wedding, though small, was very intimate and warm.

I love this shot of the bride on the phone. She was literally texting and talking all morning, making sure all the details where worked out and that everything was going to run smoothly!

And this is just such a fun shot! The pan was a gift from Steve’s sisters, and as you can see, it’s being put to good use! ;)

I had the wonderful opportunity to shoot a wedding with my good friend, photographer Renee Vanni this past weekend. It was such a lot of fun – Renee is so talented and creative! I am only publishing a few of my favorite little detail shots. The bride and groom have not even seen their pics yet, so not fair posting any that will give it away. But I couldn’t resist putting up these few little peeks…

Had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a Homer wedding this summer. Joe and Dellany were awesome – and the weather could not have worked out better for this outdoor wedding. Weather in Alaska is always a gamble, but it paid off! We got to take some incredible pictures on the black sandy beach nearby, and later in the evening, I even convined the bride and groom to do a couple of pics in the water. COLD, but well worth it!!
